A street restaurant in Stockholm’s close neighbour, Solna was blown up last night. In reality, the restaurant exploded completely into a pile of construction waste and caught fire.
The alarm came after 1:35 pm from the barbecue restaurant on Industrivägen in Solna, Hagalund. A Hagalund resident tells Pt Media:
– I was sleeping when I woke up to hell. The windows rattled and the whole house seemed to be buzzing. It was 01:35 when I looked at the cellphone screen. I thought that the d-landers there were just making Sweden like their homelands. Nothing to see, so I was not up to going anywhere.
The explosion was heard and felt throughout northern Stockholm. Another person who lives in downtown Sundbyberg tells Pt media:
– The balcony door was open and half one, there was a loud boom. My old girl said it was a thunderstorm, but to me it sounded like an explosive charge. It could be reasoned from the fact that a couple of minutes later the helicopter began to spin in the sky.
As a result of the explosion, the entire restaurant slammed into a dust twister, down to the stone foundation. The scrap ignited fire and caused a heavy smoke. Several fire department units were present to extinguish the fire. The windows of the adjacent buildings also broke.
A Police Bomb Group isolated the area at night and raked through it for possible unexploded bombs. No one was injured in the explosion, said the Police. The matter is being investigated as causing general danger and no one has been arrested.
The restaurant that exploded is called Pita Baren and is located in a fairly industrial area. Owners and employees are known to have foreign backgrounds. At this stage, the motive for the stroke can only be guessed, from juvenile pranks to Wholesaler’s payment reminder.
The place looked intact like this on Google maps:
The results after dawn looked like this. The upper picture shows the barbecue kiosk and the lower picture shows the windows of the building a bit further away.
