The Islamic student organization Ibn Rushd threatened the city of Malmö with large riots if the association was not given extra disco funds for Ramadan celebrations.
The city of Malmö has granted the Ibn Rushd Islamic organization SEK 200,000 in disco funds annually for ten years, so that Muslims can organize the Ramadan ending celebrations in Malmö’s People’s Park.
This year, the amount remained the same, even though the organization had demanded more taxpayer money for their celebrations. This angered some members of the organization, and one man even informed the city that there would be riots if extra funds were not provided.
The city considered this a threat and is investigating it as an illegal threat.
